3D Printing on commission is now available as an additional service via our partner Empire of minis.
Who is Empire of Minis?
Empire of minis is a local small business created and managed by two passionate hobbyists, Roxanne, and Roy. Their focus is purely on printing miniatures, and as such, the print quality is suitable for both gaming and display. Before joining efforts, we have run a test project to evaluate the commission printing process (showed below). The print subject was challenging in many aspects, but thanks to their commitment and efforts, it delivered a very clean model. During the entire process, they have been very responsive and professional, and I have no doubt they will uphold any expectation for upcoming projects.

Process & Pricing
If you would like to have a quote for printing a model, it is instrumental we can access the STL file. The price will mainly depend on the complexity of the print, the amount of resin consumed, the quality/reliability of supports (if pre-supported)… Small, basic infantry is generally around 5-7 € a model, but larger model can vary quite a bit.
I (ForgeEnclave) do not take a commission fee on the printing process, which means, I will simply pass though the costs of the printing (+VAT if applicable) as I would with any other model/material supplier. You can also reach out to Empire of minis to handle your printing commission directly if you so desire. Please note that I will only handle the printing process if part of a painting commission.
IP & copyright
With 3D printing inevitably comes the question of IP and copyright. This is something we take very seriously and will be assessing the legitimacy of each request on a case by case, however, following the guidelines below:
- Data retention: Any STL file that is shared with us will be deleted from our systems immediately at the commission completion or quote rejection. We will not keep records of the printable file, even at customer’s request. Most digital sculptor forbid sharing the printable file as part of the EULA, however, it is generally tolerated in the specific case of commission printing under the assumption the data will be deleted after.
- IP thieft: Copies of existing models not supplied as an STL by the IP owner (i.e: GamesWorkshop) will simply be rejected. However, part of a kit not supplied as such by the IP owner may be acceptable. This is a grey area difficult to predict, and each request will be evaluated on a case by case. For example, a copy of a Leviathan Dreadnought (GamesWorkshop kit) is a clear no go, but a stylized, modified armor kit compatible with the original model is not an issue.
